The sun came out – and so did OWB as meetings and socialising kick off again!

By 3rd August 2021News

Well summer has finally arrived, and things are hotting up – not just with the weather but the opportunity to get out and about finally to see clients!

With the lifting of restrictions, it’s been great to finally get face to face with our lovely clients for meetings and a few network events starting to take place. We’ve all managed brilliantly over the last 18 months on video calls to stay in contact, but nothing can substitute the energy of being together – whether it’s planning your next marketing campaign or just a chance to meet up, and at OWB we love nothing more than being out and about spending time with our clients.

Event season started with a brief break in the ever-important agriculture cycle allowing just enough time for our grain buying client Cefetra to unveil their new storage facilities in Great Tew. A great opportunity for the farming community to get together and review the services on offer over a glass or two of local produce. It was a fabulous turn out for the first get together since lockdown and set the scene for the rest of the month.

Andy was out and about as guest of Metro Bank at the City of Birmingham Business Awards held at the fantastic new Grand Hotel on Colmore Row, getting the first business awards up and out of the blocks.

Next up were two wonderful evenings with our client LDC. Our first get together was at the stunning rooftop terrace of The Spinningfields in Manchester to celebrate The Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders campaign, swiftly followed by The Birmingham Team Summer Party with drinks and nibbles at Primitivo and the local Midlands professional services community.

But it wasn’t all drinks and socialising, with our first face to face client planning meetings in the diary – it was wonderful to be back doing what we do best. First up was Halsall Mechanical & Electrical with an exciting new website project followed by Auriga, the public benefit entity for strategy planning.

Finally, we rounded off July with the Birmingham Business Desk Summer BBQ at Hotel du Vin as guests of our client TNA Mechanical and Electrical Solutions who sponsored the event. Whilst the weather may have run out of steam, the event certainly didn’t! There was a great turn out and it was nice to see the Midlands coming together for an afternoon of networking, drinks and lovely food!

August brings plenty more opportunities to get together and hopefully more sun to come too, so we look forward to meeting up and celebrating getting back to business with you very soon!
