OWB’s shout-out to small businesses

By 11th November 2020News

We don’t need to tell you about the ‘unprecedented year’ we’re having, or how businesses have had to adapt to try and survive during ever-changing circumstances: a week into lockdown 2.0, we’re all pretty well versed in it by now. Instead, we’d like to shine a light on some local businesses we love, who are working tirelessly to stay trading and provide customers with continued excellent service.

There are SO many out there, but here are just a few of our favourites. Show them some love on social media, buy gift vouchers to use next year, or shop their takeaway/collection services – small businesses need your love now more than ever!

Loki Wine

Lovingly curated but anything but stuffy, we are huge fans of Loki’s extensive wine collection. With over 600 wines on sale, and a collection service currently on offer, leave the supermarket stuff on the shelf and let their experts show you a different approach to wine. Post-COVID, their tasting sessions are also well worth booking, for yourself or a gift!

The Jam House

One of our St Paul’s Square neighbours, The Jam House has always been a firm OWB favourite. With an amazing combination of live music, cocktails and great food, it’s definitely one to add to your list for a Christmas or 2021 night out.

The Chocolate Quarter

Forget mediocre, mass produced chocolates – these are next level, exclusive creations, made with the best ingredients locally in the Jewellery Quarter. They are offering flat rate UK delivery, and free delivery on orders of £100 or more. Perfect for a luxurious Christmas gift.

Our favourite little beauty spot in the JQ, NailsBab creates some of the most incredible nail art you’ve ever seen! Check out their Instagram and be sure to book an appointment when guidelines allow – you won’t regret it!

St Paul’s Gallery

For the most amazing collection of album cover prints, limited edition photographs and more, look no further than St Paul’s Gallery. View their extensive catalogue and purchase online.

We are obsessed with the exquisite furniture available from Minima Interiors, another local JQ company. Every piece is timeless, and with all the extra time we’re spending at home, we’ll be taking advantage of their online shop with free UK delivery!

The Framers

Based in the Custard Factory, The Framers offer a bespoke picture framing service. Get your photos downloaded from your phone, get them printed and made into beautiful artworks for your home. We all need nice memories adorning our walls to remind us of better times! They are offering a collection service through lockdown.

A new bar on the block, JoJoLounge has successfully launched over the autumn. Set in the heart of Birmingham’s Business District, they serve the most delicious cocktails and food. Check out their website and make sure you book a table when they re-open post lockdown.

Let us know your favourite local and independent businesses and give them a shout-out via the comments section on our social media posts – every little thing we can do to support small businesses in YOUR area is vital at the moment!
