What does digital disruption mean to you?

By 18th April 2017News

Digital Disruption is one of those terms that marketers cannot seem to escape at the moment- but what does it actually mean? OWB’s Head of Social Chris and Senior Designer Rachel headed to Birmingham’s Digital Enterprise Festival to find out.
The event, held at Jaguar Land Rover’s Conference Centre in Birmingham, brought together a range of industry specialists to discuss the impact of digital disruption on various business areas, from HR to sales, as well as marketing.
How can we own our brand influence more effectively? How do we ensure our content reaches the right people? Are our clients prepared for global changes to Data Protection Regulations? Practical sessions, based mainly around social media, answered these questions and many more…
Have you ever considered using Artificial Intelligence to alter your user experience? Neither had we! But Robert Farrell, Digital Marketing Course Director at the Further Learning Group, talked us through the potential- we don’t mean getting the Terminator to deliver packages, but instead why not think about using AI to target and tailor your website or social media experience so that audiences receive hyper-specific information?
Speakers also included Social Selling Lead at Pitney Bowes, Paul Lewis, who not only shared some tips on utilising social media as a selling aid, but also terrified us by reminding us that 2020 is only three years away… By which point, over 50% of the general workforce will be made up of millennials: can you afford not to utilise social media to sell to this huge target market?
Speak to OWB today to find out how you can use social media channels to build your reputation, gather intelligence and offer insights to both clients and prospects, to truly become a ‘digital disruptor’.
